Former Auburn head coach Bryan Harsin is set to accept the offensive coordinator position at Cal, ESPN reported Monday.
Harsin has been out of coaching altogether since October 2022, when he was fired by Auburn after eight games and a 3-5 mark. Harsin, also the former head coach at Arkansas State (2013) and Boise State (2014-20), has compiled a record of 85-36, including 3-3 in bowl games.
Harsin would replace Mike Bloesch, who was let go by Cal last week. Bloesch was promoted to offensive coordinator ahead of the season after serving as offensive line coach/run game coordinator in 2023. Cal averaged 26.1 points per game this season and went 6-6.
Harsin will reunite with Cal head coach Justin Wilcox, who was the defensive coordinator at Boise State while Harsin was OC from 2006-09. Harsin was also a co-OC and quarterbacks coach at Texas from 2011-12.
